Local Pumpkin Patches, Farms & Fall Festivals to Visit
October is creeping closer, and that means it's time to start thinking about where you'll get your family's pumpkins. You could pick one up at the grocery store, but why not make a day of it by visiting a farm or pumpkin patch instead? Several pumpkin-related events are happening near our Waco homes for sale this fall. Take your kids out for an afternoon of fun at one of the places listed below, and you might just spot our real estate agents there too.
5 Farms and Pumpkin Patches for Fall Fun in Waco, TX
Waco's Pumpkin Patch Church
Address: 4901 Lake Shore Drive, Waco, TX
2026 marks the 20th anniversary of Waco's Pumpkin Patch Church, a special harvest fundraising event held each year by Central Christian Church in downtown Waco. You can buy pumpkins and gourds here for as little as $0.75, depending on their size. There are hundreds to choose from, plus a few extra activities like:
- Festive storytime sessions
- Play areas for kids
- Snapshot areas with fun seasonal backdrops
- Movie nights with family-friendly films shown outdoors on a large projector screen
The pumpkin patch is open every day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the entire month of October. It's free to visit, but guests are encouraged to buy a pumpkin or two if they can. All proceeds from the event are split between the church and local charities.
Cultural Arts of Waco's Pumpkinfest
Address: 814 Elm Avenue, Waco, TX
Pumpkinfest is part of Cultural Arts of Waco's efforts to promote creativity and self-expression among the city's youth. All local kids are invited to come and enjoy:
- Free pumpkins (limited quantities available)
- Face and pumpkin painting
- Games and crafts
- Trunk-or-Treating
- Free hot dogs and snacks
Attendees are encouraged to show up in costumes, especially ones they made themselves.
Pumpkinfest is always held on a single October evening, usually just a few days before Halloween. 2026's date and location haven't been announced, but keep an eye on their website and Facebook page for updates in the coming weeks.
Sancho Rancho Pumpkin Patch
Address: 981 Coyote Run, Waco, TX
Sancho Rancho did not host their annual Pumpkin Patch event in 2025, but they've got big plans in store for their return this year. Visit their farm on the outskirts of Waco for:
- Farm-fresh pumpkins
- Hayrides
- Horse rides
- Lawn and carnival games
- A petting zoo where kids can meet the farm's animals
- Scavenger hunts
- Inflatable bounce houses and obstacle courses for kids
- Festive crafts and activities
- Photo booths with seasonal backdrops
- A mechanical bull
- Live music
- Food and drink vendors
The event usually runs every weekend afternoon in October. Admission was $30 per car in 2024 but may be slightly higher this year due to inflation (dates and prices have not yet been finalized). You can bring as many people along as you can fit in your vehicle – including the family dog if you keep him leashed!
Western Belle Farm
Address: 7929 Heritage Parkway, West, TX
Spending an afternoon at Western Belle Farm's annual Pumpkin Festival is a beloved fall tradition for many folks living in the Waco area. This family farm near our West homes for sale goes all-out for their fall festivities, offering:
- A thriving pumpkin patch
- Hayrides on a real farm tractor
- A corn maze
- The Pumpkin Jump Pillow, a bouncy area for young kids
- Tricycle racing
- Mini ziplines
- Lots of friendly farm animals to pet
- Live music
- A cantina serving street food like popcorn and tacos, as well as iced drinks and their specialty Apple Cider Donuts
This year, the farm will be open Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. throughout October (plus the first weekend of November). Tickets are expected to cost around $16 per person with additional fees for certain activities.
Robinson Family Farm
Address: 2651 Bob White Road, Temple, TX
Head south from Waco, and you'll find the Robinson Family Farm, the site of the Central TX Pumpkin Fest. This harvest event near our Temple homes for sale is one of the biggest in the region, featuring:
- Hundreds of farm-fresh pumpkins stocked at the farm's Pumpkin House
- A giant inflatable slide and bench-style wooden swing
- A zipline
- A fun farm tram you can ride around the property
- Carnival games like skee-ball and horseshoes
- Pig and armadillo races (yes, really!)
- Axe throwing and archery ranges
- A mini golf course
- Face painting
- A gemstone mining station
- A petting zoo with friendly goats
- A live bull you can ride

The event runs every weekend from September 26 to November 1, including Halloween.
