Your Guide to Waco's Best Summer Food Trucks | Kelly, Realtors

With all the fun things to do around downtown Waco in the summertime, it's no surprise that this is also peak season for local food trucks. You'll find these restaurants on wheels in parks, at local events, and even parked in dedicated spots around town.

We can tell you which ones our real estate agents recommend most. Here are a few of the food trucks near our Waco homes for sale that we think are worth checking out.

Treat Yourself to a Summer Feast at These Top Waco Food Trucks

Spud Wiser

Address: 1402 A N 34th Street, Waco, TX 76707

Spud Wiser's food is not fancy, but it's hearty, surprisingly affordable, and undeniably delicious. Their signature twice-baked potatoes come piled with cheese, sour cream, chives, bacon bits, and your choice of meat – more than enough to fill you up all on their own. If you want a more traditional meal, though, they also sell:

  • Hot dogs (these cost less than a drink at most places!)
  • Fries and tater tots
  • Frito pie
  • Sandwiches filled with savory goodies like pulled pork and barbecue chopped beef
  • Baskets of meats like sausage links and pork chops served with a side of fries and bread

The Drunken Duck

Address: 424 Franklin Avenue, Waco, TX 76701

If you like your comfort food a little more upscale, you'll love the food served at The Drunken Duck. This food truck takes fast food to the next level with menu items like:

  • Juicy smash burgers with beef patties and optional duck confit
  • Golden fries fried in real duck fat for a rich, savory flavor you'll never forget
  • Poutine made with their signature fries, duck fat gravy, and duck confit
  • Fried duck balls, bite-sized morsels of duck meat with a crispy shell
  • Fried duck legs with coleslaw, pickles, fries, and a tortilla for easy snacking

Le's Kitchen

Address: 9107 Chapel Road, Waco, TX 76712

Le's Kitchen brings something a little different to Waco's food truck scene, serving up traditional Vietnamese street foods you can eat on the go. You can order:

  • Fried rice and sticky rice with eggs, meats, and veggies mixed in
  • Fried dumplings and egg rolls with sweet chili sauce for dipping (a particular favorite around our offices)
  • Shrimp, chicken, beef tenderloin, or veggie skewers
  • Banh mi sandwiches with pickled vegetables and your choice of protein
  • Green Thai tea, Vietnamese coffee, and other drinks

The owners also operate a restaurant under the same name on Chapel Road.

Churros' Time

Address: 9107 Chapel Road, Waco, TX 76712

Dessert, anyone? Churros' Time serves exactly what you think they do: hot, crispy churros straight from the fryer. Their current menu features four main items:

  • Full-size churros, optionally topped with a scoop of ice cream
  • Churro bites, tiny nuggets of cinnamon sugar goodness, perfect for munching during a stroll
  • The Dubai Chocolate Churro Cup, a mix of chocolate ganache, pistachio cream, shredded kataifi, strawberry slices, and churro, topped with real pistachios
  • The Wacoan, a bowl of churro bites smothered in Nutella with whipped cream and strawberries

Taqueria Mis Maria's

Address: 1715 S 19th Street, Waco, TX 76706

Taqueria Mis Maria's is so beloved that locals don't even mind that it's cash-only. This unassuming taco truck serves authentic Mexican street foods with all the fixings, including:

  • Soft-shell tacos and burritos filled with carnitas, barbacoa, pollo, chorizo, and other spicy Mexican proteins
  • Quesadillas fried to crispy perfection
  • Tortas, large sub-like sandwiches stuffed with your favorite taco fillings
  • Sides like elote, rice and beans, and fresh house-made salsa
  • Classic Mexican desserts like flan, gelatina, and gansitos
  • Imported Mexican drinks like Jarritos and Manzana Lift

Broken G BBQ

Address: 417 N Lacy Drive, Waco, TX 76705

No Texas food round-up is complete without barbecue, and that's exactly what Broken G Barbecue brings to the table. Visit them on N Lacy Drive with an empty belly and get ready to feast on:

  • Supper plates filled with up to a half-pound of meats like brisket, pork, chicken, turkey, and even meatloaf
