Waco Tour

Central Texas is a huge region, and its precise boundaries vary widely depending on who you ask. But by any definition, the city of Waco is at the heart of it. A perfect mix of big-city amenities, rustic charm and classic Texas hospitality make Waco a great place to visit and an even better one to call home. 

With mild weather and beautiful scenery, winter is a great time to visit Central Texas. Our real estate agents are excited to share some of their favorite guided tours in Waco and the surrounding areas. 

  • Waco Wine Tours - Waco, TX 76706
    Waco is the gateway to Texas' incredible wine region, and some of the best wineries in the state are a stone's throw from the city. Waco Wine Tours is a local company that offers some of the best-guided adventures in the Texas wine country, including their signature Vintage Tour, which includes stops at three wineries or vineyards complete with tastings, a light meal and souvenir glass. With a starting point located near many Waco homes for sale, Waco Wine Tours also offers private tours and Waco brewery tours.

  • Brazos Tours - 808 N 15th St, Waco, TX 76707
    The Brazos River runs right through the heart of Waco, and taking a guided river tour is a great way to experience a unique view of the city. Brazos Tours, offers morning and sunset river cruises that shed light on the distinct history and landmarks of the city and the river itself. River tours are available from March through November, but Brazos Tours offers other tour packages that are available year-round, including wine tours and food tours.
  • Waco Tours "Classic Tour" - 407 S 8th St, Waco, TX 76706
    You'll get a wide-ranging view of what Waco is all about on the Classic Tour from Waco Tours. Typically lasting 2.5 to 3 hours, the Classic Tour includes insights into the history of Waco, its architecture, and landscape from downtown to Cameron Park. You'll also get to see many of the homes and neighborhoods throughout the city that have been revitalized and featured on the show "Fixer Upper." Waco Tours offers many different tours, including River Tours and Private tours.
  • Brazos Bluff Ranch Horseback Tour - 7007 Gholson Rd, Waco, TX 76705
    Few things make you feel like you've stepped back in time quite like riding on horseback across the landscape of Central Texas, and Brazos Bluff Ranch is a perfect place to do so. Perched at the location where the Balcones Fault intersects with the Brazos River, this 300-acre ranch offers guided horseback tours for riders of all experience levels. Their 2-hour sunset tours are especially enchanting, and tours during the colder months include complimentary s'mores kits and hot drinks.
  • Tour Temple - 18 S 2nd St, Temple, TX 76501
    Waco gets a lot of attention in this part of the state, but the city of Temple, just 30-40 minutes away, is also a beautiful place to explore. Overflowing with fun vibes and small-town charm, Temple has a lot to experience, either on a guided tour or at your own pace. Tour Temple offers both, with wine tours and brewery tours that give you a taste of Temple's craft beverage scene, as well as scooter rentals so you can zoom off and explore on your own.   • Mural Selfie Tour - The Waco Trolley
    Waco is full of fantastic public art… murals seem to pop up everywhere in the city, locals and tourists alike love snapping selfies in front of them. Take a tour of some of Wacos' murals, complete with some background onto the artists and how the murals came to be with The Waco Trolley. Lasting 90-minutes, the tour focuses on Downtown Waco murals and street art created by local artists. Let them drive you around town in a classic trolley with stops at great murals so you can take selfies! Dubbed the most "Instagrammable" tour in Waco, after having taken it ourselves, we can honestly say…it is absolutely fantastic! (See some of the snaps we took here)

Waco also has plenty of other options when it comes to tours and exploring the City!

Whether you've recently moved, or have lived in Waco for a long time, 'Waco Walks' is a great walking-tour option to explore the city, both physically and historically. This informal group leads walks in various parts of the community, Their calendar normally includes one walk a month weather permitting. The Walks will sometimes include guests speakers that are experts in an area, topic, or history or partners in order to showcase specific events. For the month of February they will partner with Baylor University and the Institute for Oral History in order to focus and showcase African American History in Waco, covering topics from: education, religions, arts and more. If zooming through Waco on your own is more your speed, make sure to check out various options Downtown: from renting scooter, to renting e-bikes. You can also rent Kayaks, and take in the view from the mighty Brazos river.

If self-guided, self-paced walking tours are more your speed, make sure to check out the Waco Sculpture Zoo. When checking it out, make sure to say hi to 'Trouble' by Bob Guelich, the sculpture of an American Black Bear Clu was donated by the Waco Association of Realtors.
