Waco Parks

When our real estate agents want to spend some quality time with the family, they head to one of the wonderful parks around Waco homes for sale. Which one of these spots will become your own family's favorite getaway?

  • Cameron Park - 2601 N. University Parks Dr., Waco, TX 76708
At 400 acres, stunning Cameron Park is one of the largest municipal parks in Texas. The crown jewel of Waco parks, nestled between downtown and the Brazos River, sits on land donated more than 100 years ago by philanthropist and lumber baron William Cameron. In addition to the Cameron Park Zoo, attractions include three playgrounds, a splash pad and misters, 20 miles of trails, and spectacular views from Lovers Leap and Circle Point. Challenge your kids to reach the 100-step summit of Jacob's Ladder. Park hours are 6 a.m. - midnight daily.

  • Waco Mammoth National Monument - 6220 Steinbeck Bend Dr., Waco, TX 76708
Texas may be known for cattle today, but thousands of years ago, a different animal roamed the state. Waco Mammoth National Monument marks the spot of the first and only recorded discovery of Pleistocene mammoths in the United States. Learn more about the discovery and the Ice Age in Texas at the park's Dig Shelter. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seventh grade through college, and $3 for pre-K through sixth grade. Hours are 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily.

  • Whitehall Park - 7600 Fresno St., Woodway, TX 756712
Take Fido along when you visit Whitehall Park, just down the street from Woodway homes for sale. Whitehall made news when they opened Woofway Dog Park in February 2022. Relax on an Adirondack chair or picnic table as your dog romps around the 5,000-square-foot off-leash space. Other amenities at Whitehall include a tennis/pickleball court, volleyball court, playground, and gaga ball pit. The park is open seven days a week from 6:30 a.m. - 10:30 p.m.

  • Brazos Park East - 3516 N. MLK Jr. Blvd., Waco, TX 76702
No matter their age or skill level, the whole family can participate in a lively game of disc golf at Brazos Park East. In this popular game, players toss a Frisbee-style disc in a series of "holes." Add some variety with a game of horseshoes or a walk along with one of the trails. Launch out from the boat ramp for a leisurely trip admiring the views along the Brazos River. Mark your calendar for the exciting Duel on the Brazos drag boat race, scheduled for Sunday, July 17. Park hours are 7 a.m. - midnight daily.

  • Sul Ross Skate Park - 1301 Barnard St., Waco, TX 76701
Watch your kids show off their skills at Sul Ross Skate Park. While Sul Ross has been around for years, the three-part skate park is the centerpiece of a major renovation that took place in 2015. In-ground bowls, ramps, stairs, and rails let skaters of all ages practice their repertoire of skills. In 2020, skating legend, Tony Hawk made a surprise appearance on behalf of his foundation, which was involved in creating the park. For those who prefer keeping their feet firmly on the ground, Sul Ross includes a playground, walking trails, and a shade pavilion. The park is open daily from 6 a.m. - midnight.
