Fitness fads come and go, but running is a classic activity that never goes out of style. It requires no special equipment or facility and can be done solo or with others. Get fit in the great Texas outdoors at these upcoming 5K races near Waco homes for sale as suggested by our real estate agents.
- Holland Corn Festival 5K - Holland City Park, 409 Franklin St., Holland, TX 76534
Participate in nearly a half-century of tradition at the Holland Corn Festival 5K. For the 47th year, Holland will be celebrating their most plentiful local crop with three days of parades, live music, BBQ cook-offs, carnival rides, and arts and crafts. The 5K race takes place on Saturday, June 19 at 8 a.m. Door prizes will be given along with awards for the top finishers. Pre-registration is $25, or pay $30 day of the race. - Foster Love 5K - CrossFit Sprag, 1272 S. Wheat Rd., Belton, TX 76513
When you can get a good workout while supporting a great cause, it's a win-win. Foster Love 5K is a fundraiser for the Bell County organization of the same name. Their goal is to raise awareness of the child welfare system while also strengthening biological families. The race is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 17. The race starts and ends at CrossFit Sprag, which is also the host and organizer. The entry fee is $40. - Tuff Enuff Trail Run - Woodway Park, Park Rd. 1, Woodway, TX 76712
Are you a veteran runner looking for a new challenge? Check out the Tuff Enuff Trail Run on Saturday, August 14 at 8 a.m. This is the third in a series of four trail runs taking place near Woodway homes for sale, and the only one set in Woodway Park. In addition, the race is offered in both 5K and 10K. Early registration fees are $35 for the 5K and $40 for the 10K, which includes a custom t-shirt. Prices go up beginning July 20. If you can't make the actual race, virtual options are available for both distances for a $30 fee. - Westfest Kolache 5K - 110 E. 10th St., West, TX 76691
One of the perks of running is that you get to eat more. That comes in handy for the Westfest Kolache 5K, taking place on Sunday, September 5. The race is part of Westfest, which is held each year over Labor Day weekend to honor the Czech heritage in the area around West homes for sale and raise money for local community projects. Race sponsor Czech Stop will be providing free post-race kolaches for every runner. If you've ever had one of these delicious, fruit-filled pastries, you know they're worth the effort. Race time is 8 a.m. The entry fee is $25 through July 31, after which it goes up to $35. - Fox Trot 5K - Nolanville City Hall, 101 N. 5th St., Nolanville, TX 76559
Bid farewell to summer at the Fox Trot 5K, one of the events during the Nolanville Train Whistle Jamboree. The dog-friendly annual festival includes live music, food and beverages, a petting zoo, games, and fireworks. Both 5K and 1K races will be held as well as a virtual 10K, 5K, and 1K. Live and virtual 1Ks are free, with a $20 entry fee for the other races. The Fox Trot is scheduled for Saturday, September 25. Follow the Facebook page for start times.
