Waco Food Trucks

The Waco area is lucky to have some excellent food trucks. When you're out and about looking at Waco homes for sale, keep an eye out for these trucks, and stop for a bite to eat.

  • Hillard BBQ: 800 Elm Ave., Waco, TX 76704
If you follow the smoke, you'll find yourself at a Waco favorite, Hillard BBQ. You can often find them at 800 Elm Ave. They are particularly well known for their BBQ nachos, but they have many other great items, too. Their sliced beef sandwiches are a crowd-pleaser. You can even order 'DJs lunch bag', named after NFL Hall of Famer Derrick Johnson, a childhood friend of owner Nabote Hillard.

Don't leave Hillard BBQ without enjoying dessert. The Twix cheesecake and the banana pudding are particularly exceptional.

  • Waffle Chic: 2223 Austin Ave., Waco, TX 76701
If you love chicken and waffles, you have to try the creations at Waffle Chic. Their hallmark option is the Classic Chic, which is two chicken tenders served over four waffle squares with maple syrup decadently drizzled over the top. If you prefer something spicy, then the Hot Honey Chic is for you: chicken, and waffles topped with a hot honey sauce.

Waffle Chic is not just about the chicken. They also offer delicious lemon raspberry waffles, strawberry Nutella waffles, and waffles topped with bacon, egg, and avocado. If you're in a hurry, Waffle Chic even allows you to place your order online.

  • Taquisa Waco: 1425 LaSalle Ave., Waco, TX 76701
If you're looking for a modern twist on Mexican Cuisine, then Taquisa Waco has to make it on your list. You'll often find them at the Route 77 Food Park on LaSalle Ave.

The key items on the menu here are the tacos. You can choose something classic, like marinated pork. Or, you can go with something more unique, like beef tripe tacos. Taquisa Waco also has delicious quesadillas.

  • 900 Degree Pizzeria: 1425 LaSalle Ave., Waco, TX 76701
    900 Degree Pizzeria
is another food truck you'll find in the Route 77 Food Park. They've been a mobile restaurant since 2012, and have acquired a loyal following throughout Waco and surrounding areas.

Simplicity is the name of the game at 900 Degree Pizzeria. All of the pizzas are 11 inches across and cost $9.25. Favorites include the 4 Cheese pizza and the Carnivore pizza, which comes topped with bacon, pepperoni, and Italian sausage. You can also build your own pizza if you prefer that approach.

  • Club Sandwich: 601 Webster Ave., Waco, TX 76701
Club Sandwich advertises that they like to make Asian food...American style. Despite what their name suggests, they don't just serve sandwiches; although you can order their stir-fried meats on a sandwich, that's just one option.

The focus is really on rice bowls, and they have plenty of choices for everyone from vegetarians to carnivores. The braised beef and lemongrass pork served in a bowl over rice with cilantro lime sauce is delectable. Rice bowl choices also include tofu and veggies bursting with flavor covered in a rich sauce. Their menu caters to all, providing hearty meats, and delicious meat-free options.

Whichever one of these food trucks you decide to stop at, you're sure to have a wonderful meal. The Waco area has so much to offer in terms of food and food culture, which is one reason our real estate agents recommend moving here. Contact us if you're looking for a real estate agent.
